A clearer connection
Your home.
Your choice of platform.
Matter provides a shared language for compatible smart home products. A little planning makes it easier to choose what belongs in your home.

Three parts.
One connected setup.
The Matter product
Your switch, motor or sensor. Check its exact model, supported functions and regional installation requirements.
The Matter controller
A compatible controller from your chosen ecosystem manages the product. Controller requirements vary across Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa and SmartThings.
The Thread border router
Matter-over-Thread products need a compatible border router to connect their Thread network to your home IP network. Some hubs combine this with a Matter controller.

Will every feature work in every app?
No. Basic controls and advanced settings can differ across ecosystems. HAOJAI-specific configuration and maintenance may require DK-AI or a model-specific setup method.
Can more than one platform control a device?
Matter supports multi-admin sharing, subject to the device and ecosystem implementation. Follow your platform’s sharing flow and check the number of supported connections.
Does Matter mean everything works without the internet?
Matter supports local communication. Remote access, voice assistants, account services and some automations may still depend on a hub, cloud service or internet connection.
Does a newer Matter version update my device automatically?
No. Features depend on hardware, firmware and platform support. A standards release does not mean an existing product has received those capabilities.
Know what connects.
Read the standard’s own introduction, then check the specifications of the HAOJAI model you are considering.
